Steven McEldowney, MD
Dr. McEldowney obtained his undergraduate degree at Northwestern University and a master’s degree in science at Georgetown University. He earned his medical degree at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. He finished his medical internship and residency training in Internal Medicine at the prestigious Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
Dr. McEldowney completed a three year specialty fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin which is renowned for clinical research in asthma, viruses, and eosinophils (white blood cells). He completed an additional year of research and studied novel forms of immunotherapy and their effects on allergy and asthma symptoms and the immune system. He opened his solo practice in Blakeney to provide state-of-the-art allergy and asthma care with an emphasis on compassionate and timely service. Dr. McEldowney enjoys spending time with his family, walking his dog, and practicing Brazilian jiu-jitsu in his free time.
Dr. McEldowney is Board Certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology (ABAI). He is a member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI); American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI); American Medical Association (AMA); and the North Carolina Medical Society (NCMS).
